Paid flying visit to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, one of several leaning towers in Italy but the most famous by far. Difficult to take a shot without people intruding so i settled for this view.
Walking around Florence Italy I came across this scene. With the minute or two I had while the guide wittered on about something totally different I grab this alleyway picture, which is a typical sight in Florence.
I have tried to capture a picture of a Heron for as long as I can remember. So here I was strolling along the seafront at Rappllo,Italy when I came across this Heron on the beach. I could have shot away all day as it was well used to people. The longest lens I had with me was my 70-210mm,because of weight limitations I left my 135-400mm Apo at home!
It had to happen one day, my faithful Konica Minolta 7D has gone to the camera graveyard in the sky, never to expose itself again! Therefore I had no choice but to replace old faithful, but what with? I have a selection of Minolta fit lens so to change to another system like Nikon or Canon would mean a very large outlay on both a body and lenses. It had therefore to be Sony! I looked at the A550 but that would have been downgrading in my opinon. The next step up was the Sony Alpha 850, and what a big step up,spec wise and price wise! After reading reviews I went into the local Jessops as you do with no intention of buying but to get a feel and a fiddle with the camera. It handled great! Having already priced it on the web I new Jessops £1899 price was beyond my budget. No wonder they are in trouble!Suffice to say I am awaiting delivery on Tuesday from a camera shop in Wales, and the money I saved would buy a very good quality lens. Maybe in another few months! So any future postings will be pictures taken on my nice shiny new Sony Alpha 850 . Watch this space.
